Establish on 1932 with name Jabatan Parit Dan Taliair. The main duty is to make development at new agriculture land and give responsible with irrigation and drainage.

         Since several years, this department is under Minister of Agriculture control, receiving new responsible. The jobs is :

         a.  River engineering
         b. Flood Dam
         c. Beach engineering
         d. Hydrology

         In years 1989, this department have officially change name to Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran for take part in wide responsible.

    After seventy years its establish, JPS can rewind their success for actualize many program with proud ness. Their experience and knowledge with dynamism, now put this department step forward in water management and land development.
